Wedderburn, Central Otago
Wedderburn Cottages is perfectly positioned at the "summit" of the Otago Central Rail Trail (618m above sea level). The Rail Trail passes directly through our farm, with your accommodation situated next to the track. This makes us the ideal halfway point for those cycling from Clyde to Middlemarch (or vice versa), and a convenient stop for a well-earned rest after the climb to the summit.
Iconic Scenery: We are located in the vast, open landscapes made famous by artist Grahame Sydney. From your veranda, enjoy uninterrupted views of the Hawkdun Range.
A Historic Hub: We are just a 200-meter stroll from the historic Wedderburn Tavern (built in 1885), where you can enjoy a classic country meal and local hospitality.
Iconic Landmarks: The famous Wedderburn Goods Shed—the most photographed building on the trail—is just a short walk away.
Situated on State Highway 85 (The Pigroot), Wedderburn is centrally located for those exploring the wider South Island by road.
